About Melissa

Melissa Ferguson founded Fishers of Folk in 2023. Her web design dabbling started at age 12, customizing profile pages of blogs and online gaming platforms.

Her professional experience spans a range of industries and organization sizes. Among these experiences are working as a product manager at a large software company, where she learned to balance visual design with user experience and market positioning with concrete goals. She can bring corporate best practices to your small organization, looking at a feature from multiple angles to ensure it makes the overall system stronger.

But perhaps most importantly, she cares about her clients and wants them to succeed.


Fishers of Folk

From Design to Technology

We began our journey as Fishers of Folk Digital Design, creating modern websites for churches. By teaching staff and volunteers to manage their own websites, we hoped to teach them to become “fishers of folk” to grow their communities.

Over time we have expanded, working with nonprofits and business owners to provide digital transformation in many aspects of their organization.

If you have a routine task that takes a long time to complete manually, we’ll look for ways to reduce steps and automate. If you have an existing tool that is either too difficult to use or isn’t meeting your current needs, we’ll look for user-friendly alternatives with the features you need most.
